The Hambleton Talking Newspaper is a free audio service that brings local news, features, and community stories to people who find reading printed material difficult.
We produce monthly recordings of news from a variety of publications and other local sources, as well as a community noticeboard to help listeners stay connected with what's happening in their community.
Who Is This For?
Our service is for anyone who struggles to read - whether through:
- Sight loss
- Dyslexia
- Arthritis
- Any condition that makes handling or reading print a challenge
How It Works
Each edition is recorded by a team of local volunteers and delivered straight to listeners' homes:
- On a memory stick (USB)
- Online through our website
Friendly voices bring the news to life, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the pleasure of keeping up to date with local events, stories, and announcements in a way that's easy and personal.
The Hambleton Talking Newspaper is run entirely by volunteers and supported by donations. Our aim is simple: to make local news accessible to everyone.
